The nominations for the 2023 Oscars were announced from Los Angeles on Tuesday with a big surprise since it is the comedy “Everything Everywhere All At Once” which collects the most votes with 11 nominations.

The film starring Michelle Yeoh who travels throughout time and space to save her laundromat is a comedy critics weren’t expecting so high for the Oscars.

Behind, two films co-produced by Europe collected 9 nominations, the war film “All is quiet on the Western” front and the dramatic comedy “The Banshees of Inisherin”, one of the favorites for the supreme award…

“The Banshees of Inisherin” is a European box office success, co-produced with Ireland, the story of two friends, one of whom decides for no apparent reason not to speak to the other…

Finally, in the Best International Film category, note the presence of 4 European films out of the 5 final nominees: another Irish film, The Quiet Girl, the Polish film EO, the German co-production All is Quiet on the Western Front and finally the Belgian film “Close”, awarded at Cannes.
